Episode 50 - Life Begins At 40

Episode 50 lands with a double milestone: I’ve just turned 40, and the birthday brought up more than candles and cake. It’s pride in how far I’ve come, sadness for what I carried in my twenties and thirties, and a surprising calm that follows the chaos. If you’ve ever hit a big age and felt both grateful and uneasy, this one will meet you there with honesty and heart. If this resonates, follow the podcast, share it with someone who’s in a season of change, and leave a review so more people can find Life Is Sound. What’s the one thing you’re ready to stop putting off?

Episode 49 - The Strange Business of Being Spiritual

In this solo episode, I reflect on something I’ve been noticing within the spiritual and wellness space. More people are beginning to question the communities they belong to, practitioners are publicly challenging the methods of others, and genuine conversations around bad practice are becoming increasingly mixed with marketing, competition and the need to sell the next solution.

After more than fifteen years of exploring my own spirituality, I’ve also started questioning what it really means to be “spiritual”. Episode 48 - How To Break The Anxiety Habit And Find Calm w/ Maureen Fearon

Anxiety doesn’t just appear, it often becomes something we practise, repeat, and then call “me”. We go straight at that idea with a question that sounds almost rude until you sit with it: would you like to not do anxious?

We unpack what we’ve both been seeing more and more, from children carrying heavy worry to adults who feel like their mind never stops. Together, we explore how the language of anxiety has become everyday talk, and why that can quietly lock it into your identity. We also step into the tricky truth that anxiety can bring “benefits” such as attention, lowered responsibility, or an escape route at work, and how that keeps people stuck in cause and effect thinking and the victim state.
